Merry, Merry

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, Hanukkah or are continuing the festivities with Kwanzaa or Festivus.

My folks arrived on the evening of the 23rd and we enjoyed a Christmas Eve day visit to the Museum of Natural Science where we saw bugs, butterflies and bones. We had a festive lunch at the McDonald's in the museum. Nothing says Christmas like a Quarter Pounder with Cheese. Christmas Eve had us enjoying our traditional meal of shrimp and Flinn soup. We handed out candy canes to passersby who were admiring our lights and had the annual viewing of "Christmas Vacation" before donning our 'kerchiefs and caps and settling down for long winter naps.

Santa made his way to our house bringing Miss F all that she asked for: pink guitar, baby that cries and a My Little Pony (shall I mark this as the last time Santa can get away with such a small list?). He brought Mr. B and I a compost pail to start our New Year of composting. We relaxed, played with our new toys and ate turkey and all the trimmings not once, but twice making for a very lazy (and wonderful) Christmas Day.

Last year we started a tradition of doing S'mores the night of Christmas. Last year we got the idea because it was cold and a fire sounded like fun. This year, as you can see, it was a bit warmer. Unseasonably warm. Record high warm. And so humid our concrete was sweating!!!

We headed to Rick's hometown for the weekend for Christmas #2 and I was able to sneak off to my favorite city in Texas--Boerne--for some antiquing while Mr. B and Miss F ran like banshees throughout the country side.

Miss F and I have no school this week and Mr. B had to work a 1/2 day and then he's off the rest of the week, also. Projects, lists and adventures will abound, I am sure.

Speaking of Boerne, the Fickle Pickles are addicting! Thanks again.
