Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! Here we are, 2009....who would've thunk it, right? I can still remember listening to a song by Pulp called "Disco 2000" back in 1996 and thinking it was so, so far away. I remember celebrating Y2K like it was yesterday, not yesteryear.

We hosted a New Year's Noon party at our home for Miss F's girl buddies from daycare. We had some camera issues (yes, batteries) and then somehow our photos of the event don't include our own child. I'm not comfortable posting photos of other children than our own without permission so....imagine, if you will, seven 3-year-old girls, all dressed in various princess/fairy/drum majorette outfits, each carrying a doll and wearing high heeled shoes. Add to that some noise makers (decorated by said princess/fairy/drum majorettes), a giant bowl of confetti and a countdown at Noon instead of midnight. Later, we had a Mac 'n' Cheese bar with mac 'n' cheese (natch) but fixins to add like crushed potato chips, bacon bits, green chiles, parmesan cheese and more. Yum. And, I made Katie's Yummy Salad for the grown-up palate.

We attended a New Years Eve party but Miss F hit the wall at 9:30 and really, so did I, so Miss F and I came home and watched "Kung Fu Panda" on pay-per-view while Mr. B rang in the New Year at the party. Everyone got what they wanted--Miss F got to see Kung Fu Panda finally, I was in jammies and on the couch and Mr. B got to spend some time with the guys, fire, and various meat products.

Today was football for dad and Miss F and lady lunching and movie (Yes, Man) for me.

Hoping everyone is having a wonderful year so far!
