Midwest Living, Pt 1
Our first morning of the Midwest Tour '08 found us eating homemade cinnamon rolls. Amazing. They involved sweetened condensed milk which you know means they were ooey-gooey goodness.
We proceeded to the Mall of America (MOA for short). We met my uncle and his wife Sharon for a trip to the Rainforest (the Rainforest Cafe, that is). Miss F enjoyed the scenery including the rainstorm. After our lunch, we all headed to Nickelodeon Universe (formerly Camp Snoopy). Yes, there is an amusement park inside the Mall. It has roller coasters, a couple, plus a ferris wheel. Really, you can't imagine it until you get there. I still marvel at good, ol' MOA. Miss F rode Blue's Skiddoo, Diego's Rescue Bus, Azul and the Carousel.
After Nickelodeon World, we headed for the Aquarium (yes, still inside the Mall at this point). And no visit to MOA is complete without stopping by LegoLand to see what they've created out of Legos!
And I bet you think our day is done, don't you? Oh, no! C'mon, you know the B Family...we gotta keep on goin'! We proceeded to head to the house of the 3 Kings to meet with college friends and their children. We grilled out, caught up and watched the kids drive the mini-John Deere around the yard (and take out their kid-sized table, too). Here are a few of the kidlets as we were closing down the night, jammies on and watching good ol' Curious George. Good times. It's amazing at times like these to sit back and see how far life has taken you and to be thankful for the people who have known you so long and still love you. Great visit--Thanks girls (and their husbands) for meeting up with us!
