My first full week of summer....I mean, first full week of summer where I was home. I've kept Miss F home with me a couple days this week. We went swimming with friends and to splash pads with pals. We visited the library where Miss F. earned her prizes for reading in the summer reading club. I babysat a friend's 3 kids as well as my 1 kid and no, I didn't get any ideas. In fact, it made me feel that my bold statement of having 2, at most, is right in line with where I need to be to keep my sanity. I admire all of you that have more. Keep right on truckin', my sistas, Mrs. B is going to stay in the slow lane. Throw in a Moms Club meeting and a Book Club pow-wow and a good time was had by all (well, maybe not Mr. B who had the lion's share of babysitting BUT he did go to happy hour with a friend one evening)
This Saturday we met with a playgroup for a couple hours and then did chores, etc. Later we went to a local BBQ joint (we had an Entertainment Book coupon) and they had a couple musicians playing country music. Miss F was loving it. She danced and since it was a small crowd, they kept dedicating songs to her. She's got quite the dance skills (and was even trying out a few steps from her new, summertime, creative movement class).
Today we went and picked blueberries, blackberries, cucumbers and tomatoes at a Pick Your Own Farm. We were laughing about it, though, as some people do that for a living. Some people get paid to do what we did yet we paid to do it. We paid to do back breaking work in the hot sun all in the name of entertainment for our city-fied selves. Miss F enjoyed picking the berries and I got a kick out of plucking a cucumber right off the vine (plant? bush?) It has inspired us to try to start a garden of our own next spring.

THat is funny! I picked veggies all summer every summer for 10 years!!! Berries are fun though!
I did plant a veggie garden and it is a good time watching things grow! Aaron is really enjoying it to see how much plants can grow in one day!!!
