Highlights of the trip
1. The sites--Alcatraz (and as you can see in the photo, my apparant glee and joyfulness at finding there was a library on "The Rock"), Fisherman's Wharf, Haight/Ashbury, Golden Gate B
ridge, Chinatown, Cable Cars, etc.

2. Having my stitches removed by Dr. Lembcke. A Girls Weekend First!
3. Hotel California--with it's shot of tequila on check in (OK, only Cynth was brave enough to do it at check in) and song lyrics on the wall. It came complete with the smell of erm, let's just say, Eau de Grateful Dead concert, wafting through the hallway.
4. Taking over a bar--just like the movies, we wandered into a deserted bar with a few patrons and a bartender. We took over the jukebox and by the end of the night had made a family from the lonely souls that wandered in there for a drink. Ok, seriously, we think it may have been a brothel upstairs and we may have interupted the buisiness for the night but heck, it was fun.

5. Walking hills is fun! Walking 20,000 steps a day is even better.
6. I walked the Golden Gate Bridge. All 1.25 miles of it. Pushing through my fear of heights, and bridges, and deep water, and cars and earthquakes causing bridges to fall in deep water with oncoming cars...and...and...it was scary but I did it. Speaking of the brothel above, we did pose the question--would you rather be a call girl or have to climb up the ropes to the top of the bridge to do maintainence? Just think about it. Here I am before I began my harrowing journey.

7. Being with my girls (Here we are on the cable car)! So fun but can we do something relaxing next year?
And, don't tell my mom and dad but we used a Guide Book and sometimes, we even had it out in public! I know, I know. Crazy how old age makes you do things you swore you'd never do.
