Weekend Update

Yes, it's Monday and you're getting the weekend update--why? Because I had today off!

Let's see....Saturday Miss F and I went to a playgroup in the neighborhood south of ours. She did OK, a few shrieks and a few dracula impressions but she never completed the bite. I got my bulk shopping fix in as well as a Michael's run for photo frames while Miss F napped. We bought her a new (for her--it's from a consignment shop) tricycle-type thing so we went around and around the cul-du-sac with her. Saturday night the babysitter came and Mr. B and myself went to a neighborhood mixer put on by my 'hood's Mom Club. Very fun. We met a ton of neighbors and ate too much and drank just right (and we both stopped early and drank water--are we grown up or what?!?)

On Sunday we hit the zoo and Miss F came home and decided not to nap. She did spend 2 hours of quiet time in her crib talking to her monkey and throwing things over the side and saying 'uh-oh'. We went to our neighbor's for dinner and their 18 month old picked up a shape and said 'hexagon'. And it was a hexagon. That kid is a genius (and a 2nd child)

Today I dropped Miss F at daycare, ran a few errands and then met a friend (who shall remain nameless for she was 'sick' today) to eat yummy Central Market sammies and see "Music and Lyrics" with Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. So cute. So cheesy. So sappy. And yes, I cried. I always cry in Drew Barrymore movies. Add in Hugh Grant and some great 80s references and I am a happy, satisfied, $7 paying, customer (well, maybe not about the $7 for a matinee but everything else). Girls, grab a female friend or two and go. It's just good, clean, escapism.
