Are You There God, It's Me, Jeny

Here's a new (yet old) photo of Miss F. It was taken in November but we just got them from the photographer this week.

I have been trying to get up at 5 AM to go to the gym 4 days a week. This week I only made 2 days--but I did work out 2 nights, too, so I'm still doing OK. This morning, I didn't set the alarm because I give myself Friday off. Well, at 5 AM, the smoke alarm let off one little "beep". Do you think God was trying to tell me to get my butt out of bed and go to the gym? Do you think it's bad that I ignored the 'sign' and kept sleeping?

Things are good in the B household. Busy, busy. We have work, we're now involved with our neighborhood civic club, I walk with friends 2 nights a week, shopping, librarian's network meetings, school plays, Dr. appointments and more!

I am reminded of an Edna St. Vincent poem that I analyzed in high school. I liked it then but I didn't realize it was a prediction of life to come--

My candle burns at both ends;
It will not last the night;
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends--
It gives a lovely light!

Because, although I complain about it, I think I love to be busy. I love the 'light' of burning the candle at both ends.
