Bad Blogger

I am the worst blogger ever. I take comfort, however, that most of my blogging friends are slackers lately, too. My cousin Madeline, however, is marching on like a good blogging soldier with her Rachael Ray blog. Really, everyone should check it out. Even if you hate Miss RR.

Life is good. It was a busy week. I had 2 nights where I wasn't home before 9ish. One was for the neighborhood civic club meeting (I'm the social chair) and one was for seeing the play "Nicholas Nickleby" at my school.

The rodeo is coming to town! On Friday, about 10:30, there was a school-wide announcement that the trail riders were coming. I've never seen 'too-cool-for-school' teenagers run out of a building so fast. The big, hotstuff, seniors were waving at the riders as they came past like little kids. It was really quite touching. The trail riders ride in from all over Texas--some from really quite far away--and they bring covered wagons and everything. I think we'll take Miss F to see the animals and the pig races. I saw on the schedule they're having a llama costume contest one day. Now, I'd pay $12 admission to see a llama costume contest, wouldn't you? I don't really like any of the performers so no concerts this year--just the 4-H variety of fun (and things on a stick--it's no MN State Fair but there sure is a lot of food on sticks there)

Our weekend was busy but sooo fun. I think this goes down as the most fun weekend of February. Saturday was the Children's Museum with some friends. After nap, we took the maiden voyage in the Burley (bike trailer) on the cul-du-sac. Miss F loved it. We tried a new babysitter (fantastico for those in H-town, I can give you her name) on Saturday night when we went to dinner and then to the Alley Theatre to see "Hitchcock Blonde" with some friends. I'm still confused by it but Mr. B was happy--full, frontal nudity of the female variety for a good 5 minutes. Plus, there was smoking! You go, Alley Theatre. Way to push the limits.

Sunday we met friends at the park for a picnic. We got sunburned! It was cool and sunny and it was our first burn of the year (yes, moms, we will be putting sunscreen on the Target list ASAP). After nap we took a 10 mile round-trip ride with the Burley. This time Miss F was NOT thrilled with it because we made her wear a helmet. She'll get used to it and we need to adjust the helmet and straps in the Burley a bit for her, too. I made Asian-Orange Salmon for dinner and am off to watch "The Amazing Race: All Stars". I think it's on.....maybe not...it's Oscar night, right?

I have photos--look for a post tomorrow

We love the burley too! Getting used to the helmet was an obstacle with both kids, but they both love it now.

Thanks for the plug, Jeny! I am a bad blogger sometimes, too. I have posts saved up for when I don't feel like blogging, so I just go in and hit publish. You're allowed to be a bad blogger every now and then.
