The Possessed

We haven't taken any new pictures in '08 yet. So here's one of Miss F getting to eat some treats off her gingerbread house.
The title of this post is about our microwave becoming possessed at 1 a.m. I wake up to beeping. I wonder if the battery is low on our smoke detectors. I wonder if it's our alarm. What is that noise? Finally, after hearing it now and again for about 10 minutes, I wake Mr. B and we go on a noise hunt. I know he is irritated. I know he thinks I'm being silly but something is weird and beeping. It's the microwave. It has turned itself on and is beeping that it is finished cooking (?) We reset it and get back in bed. Next thing you know we hear "beep-beep-beep" whir.....it has set a time on the clock and has turned itself on to cook! Needless to say, we unplugged it and I had nightmares all night about messages from the microwave about inpending pyscho-death or things cooked that shouldn't be cooked (i.e. Fatal Attraction). It doesn't work anymore. I'm sure it was an electric thing. I'm sure our house isn't haunted, right?

Miss F is funny. When told that I would be mad if I came home and she was still awake, she promptly told Mr. B that no, I would be happy for her. She loves to tell you she wants to kiss Murray (the red Wiggle and atrocious looking--I think I've convinced her that Anthony is the way to go--hubba, hubba). She says "Mommy, talk-a-me. What did you do today?". She has a cute accent and says things like "I'm a bahr(bear)" and "hay-elp"(help). She needs some time up nort' to at least do a good, Scandahoovian/Norveegin version of "Ya Shure" and "You Betcha".

Our weekend plans were plagued by sickness (not on our part) as the creeping crud has found its way to Houston (sounds like it's in Edina, too!). We rallied and made new plans and went to a few playdates, hosted a playdate and I was able to go to brunch to celebrate a friends upcoming new arrival. We played "Apples to Apples" with some friends while the kids ran amuck and generally had a relaxed weekend. No rush. No worries.

Hailey used to say "talk-a-me" too! Don't you just love their little voices? Miss F is getting so big.
