Weekend Update

Weekend was good--yet another one that filled up quickly!

We watched "Secondhand Lions" on Friday night. If you haven't seen it, it's really cute. Very "Princess Bride"ish with a story within a story. We had to borrow a cup of milk from a neighbor as I was knee deep in pancakes mix and when I went to put in the milk, we had only 1/3 of a cup and needed more. It was my first time doing that and it felt really quaint and home-y.

Saturday was a park playdate for Miss F and Mr. T. Then home for nap. On to a 2nd Birthday party for a messy good time. Then we had friends over for dinner. When planning the menu, I was going through my cookbooks and found a sticky note with Stokes' instructions for Tator Tot Hotdish. Threw it out there as a menu suggestion and our friends jumped at the chance to try this tasty midwestern delicacy. It was goooooood. We had a cheesy-good appetizer, hotdish, salad and cobbler. Comfort food is so comforting.

Today we went to IKEA to figure out what to do with our guest room. Miss F has the guest room bed, now, and we eventually will make our garage 'apartment' the guest room so we'll want a futon or a sleeper sofa but for now, having an extra bedroom, we're debating just getting another bed. Decisions, decisions. Miss F threw a huge tantrum in IKEA and if you've ever been there, you know my pain at trying to make a quick exit--there isn't one. Even taking all the shortcuts, we still passed quite a few shoppers impressed with Miss F's vocal cords.

On to the work week....
