Memorial Day

We hosted a Memorial Day party for some of our neighbors/Flinn's friend's parents (they're pretty much one and the same). Naturally, it rained. We had 26 people in our house and under the porte cochere for a couple hours watching the water rise, celebrating those that fought for our freedom and Wisconsin. Yes. Wisconsin. We had an Ode to Wisconsin Memorial Day bash. We had bratwurst and....so exciting...Leinie's! Lots and lots of Leinie's Sunset Wheat. I had a photo montage of Wisconsin and a cheesehead centerpiece. Good times were had by all, ya sure, you betcha.

Awhile back I emailed the beer guy at Spec's. It's a local liquor chain known for having speciality everything....but not Leinie's..he apologized but Leinie's was a no can do. Low and behold, two weeks ago the guy emailed me back and said they finally had Leinie's. So...off we went to buy a case. Yum. Yum.

Miss F had her first gymnastics class today. She loved it. I signed her up for two reasons: the first, for something fun for the summer. The second is because she's not the most dexterous kid on the playground. Well, she was a superstar in gymnastics. Somersaults, trampolines and she even (with help) flipped up and over on the uneven bars. A smile was plastered on her face for 45-minutes. Joining in the fun made me wish this place taught an adults class. I'd love to get back on that balance beam and relive my Mary Lou Retton idolizing days.
