Well...we had ANOTHER 'snow' day for the ice storm that hit everyone hard, but Houston. Miss F even had the day off so we visited with other 'snowbound' (ha--more like drizzly-rain bound) friends. The moms did a puzzle and the kids played. Well...that's the pretty version...really one mom would work on the puzzle while the other three ran defense with the 4 kids aged 13 months to 19 months.
Miss F has become a biter. Sigh. On the advice of a friend, I'm going '86 on her butt and reading Dr. Spock. On the advice of another friend, I've taught her the sign for 'Help' so when she's frustrated, she can ask for 'help'. Any other advice? I'm open....she is already showing improvement, though and played nice this weekend.
Miss F and I went to the Children's Museum and the Arboreteum on Saturday. We babysat her friend A from the P Family on Saturday night. After the little ones went to bed, I cooked a Rachael Ray meal (Caution Flag Chili with Black Bean and corn flat tires from 2-4-6-8)and we watched 'Cars'. Have y'all seen that? Soooooo cute! We loved it.
Today we had the best laid plans (thus the title of this blog). The P family reciprocated the babysitting favor (it's a babysitting co-op thang) so Mr. B and I could go to see the Ben Franklin exhibit (one of my 101 Goals) and the 'Greece' IMAX. Last day for B.F. exhibit and I was soooo excited. We roll up and there's no parking. OK, no problem, we drove a little further and parked at the zoo. We walk in and the line was DisneyWorld crazy--switch backs, zig zags and just plain L-O-N-G. The B.F. exhibit tickets were sold out and we weren't going to make the IMAX with that line so.....we went window shopping and ate ice cream. I had a Cold Stone gift card and we walked up to the store and it was CLOSED, like out of business closed. Luckily there was a 31 Flavors down the block. I was very disappointed. One of my goals can't be met, even in 1001 days. No Cold Stone. No IMAX. BUT...silver lining, folks....the IMAX and exhibit were going to cost $50/total so......we saved money.
Miss F, besides becoming a bit of a werewolf, has learned the word 'No' complete with head shaking. She is
pretty good at using her spoon and has a new talent--photography. She got her hands on the digital camera and even figured out how to push the button to take a photo. Mr. B ruined our fun (he also ruins our fun at CostCo) so she only took these 3 photos. Watch out Annie Leibowitz and Ansel Ad
ams.
