The Post Office

I'm too lazy to edit this photo. Just turn your head to the side.

I went to the Post Office today to mail a few packages. I can never make the 'normal' hours so I like the one in my 'hood that has the self-serve machine after hours. When I arrived, there was a woman ahead of me so I waited. Then it was my turn~just as I went to get started, a woman walked up with one, small envelope. So I let her go ahead of me. Then I started my work--printing stamps for the tiny momentos I'm sending to so many. I look behind me and there's a man with 3 packages (I have about 18 at this point). I told him, 'Sir, I will do 5 and then let you go ahead of me'. I completed my 5, turned around and the line was 4 people long! ARGH! So, I get back in line but this time I warned anyone coming behind me--I'm not going to be nice, *smile*, sorry. I finally get up again and make it through 15 packages when the machine cut me off. I had 1 left! ONE! I dumped them all in the mailbox and realized OOPS! I sent the one without a stamp! Luckily the nice Post Office man behind the mailboxes retrieved it for me (It was your gift, Cynth, so thank him, too!) 'Tis the most wonderful time of the year......

So, I was thinking how I was doing something nice (letting people go ahead of me) but for the wrong reason. Not realy the kindness of my heart but fear they'd be mad at me or think horrible thoughts about me. So...as I continue my 101 goals....

#46--Be nice for the right reasons
#47--Don't worry what others think of me
#48--Go to China
#49--Adopt from China (**Will never happen but has been a wish of mine since childhood)
