Busy B's!

After today, my blogging should resume it's normal schedule. The AZ/D.C. GrandB's head out on a jet plane tomorrow. The TX GrandB's went home yesterday. There are no parties, no birthdays, no Baptisms on the calendar (at least for now).

My birthday was a success. I received a subscription to Rachael Ray's magazine, a whistling tea kettle and a wet/dry vacuum. Can you say "I've grown up"? Most things are very practical, dontcha think? I also had a Baskin-Robbins ice cream cake. My request was for it to have a picture of Patrick Dempsey on it. Mr. B wasn't too keen on going into a store with a picture of Patrick asking for his likeness on a cake, so...it just said Happy Birthday. Oh, and my mom had a nice birthday too--she got the Rachael Ray knives and the Dinner Dr. cookbook.

Our Thirsty Thursday housewarming party was a success. By my count there were at least 40 bodies in the new casa. Many were under the age of 10 but there were quite a few adults there, also. I served tea in my white gloves and a good time was had by all (you will only think this last sentence is funny if you read small town newspapers' social columns)

AZ Grandpa flew to Boston for a couple days and returned on Saturday. His landing gear wouldn't go down and the pilot had to come back to the wing area, tear up the carpeting and reach down to fiddle with the manual way to get the things down. It was a bit nerve wracking especially since he called my mom on the plane phone with a minute by minute recap--including letting her hear the plane touch down, finally.

After that excitement, Miss F was baptized on Sunday. She tried to swim in the holy water. I sure hope we caught that on film. I wonder if she knew she's going to be the type that needs a little extra holy water in her life. Heaven help us if she is.

Here's Miss F with Uncle Corey at the Downtown Aquarium (and on her first train ride). He's single, ladies, and is a good catch. He likes the country, works on airplanes and enjoys long walks on the beach and pina coladas (OK, I made up the part after 'works on airplanes') If you know anyone in the San Antonio area, or willing to relocate to the San Antonio area, let me know and I'll get you in touch.
