The next installment in the B Family meets 1968. We had a great weekend--Miss F is still a little fish so we took her swimming on Sunday. We went to my favorite antique book store (and antique garden center) so I could pick up a magazine from 1968 and an old road map for two projects I have in the works. We also had a little A&W for lunch--mmmm! Reminds me of Wisconsin (the one in Baldwin for those of you in the know). We also hung some pictures, moved our few items out of the storage unit and I made a Rachael Ray meal Sunday night.
Speaking of RR....I will not be cooking an RR meals for the next 2 weeks. Instead I will be cooking from my 5:30 Challenge cookbook (5 ingredients, 30 minutes). It's a bit quicker, easier and cheaper than Rachael Ray but not as gourmet or exciting. And, those of you that remember Ramen noodles from college will be happy to know I have two recipes that use Ramen noodles in real 'meals'. Yes, it's true! I will post the recipes in a blog later (too tired to go and find my recipes). I know you've been wanting to get back in touch with Ramen.
Alrighty---the den/family room area was quite dark due to the love of wood paneling those 60s folk embraced. Again, a coat of neutral color and voila! It's a new room. Please note that the couch and chair do not match. In the old house, they were in separate rooms. In this new house, the room is so big it called for the green chair to be present. Since they're IKEA, I will get new slipcovers, when given permission from Mr. B (and if you've never been to IKEA, or haven't heard about my love for IKEA, you may wonder why I need permission to go--it's like Target, I can't control myself and walk out spending too much money but everything is so cool or cute). The secret Martha Stewart in me is dying about it but this house has helped in the lesson of Need vs. Want.

Funny how you mention the Baldwin A&W. I had a root beer float at that very restaurant last weekend, when we were there for a fastpitch tournament! Too bad the tourney wasn't this past weekend, which was apparently June Bug days in Baldwin. Hope I'm making you homesick enough for a visit to the north country with your brood!!!
