This week my blog had to be neglected. It's not like I actually had anything big going on, but I'm finding that sometimes, in order to keep my sanity, some things have to be put aside while the more important things get taken care of. This week...my television watching was more important than my blog.
Since I last blogged, I've met with my Book Club. The book we read was The Bride Stripped Bare and it was pretty much porn (I guess in literary circles, it would be 'erotica'). Even a book with so much to spark discussion as this one, we didn't talk about the book for more than a few minutes. It's just beyond our ability to be a book club that talks about books. We talk about T.V. more than the book. I love it and wouldn't change a thing. It's the perfect Book Club and really, we do read! I promise.
Miss F had four more rolling over experiences. It happened while Mr. B was watching VH1 Classics 'Metal Mania'. It just takes a speed metal band to get our girl rockin' and rollin' (literally). She learned to jump in her Jumperoo to 'Sweet Home Alabama' so I guess she's keeping up with rock+roll=milestone. Later, she was on her tummy and had rolling amnesia (perhaps because I had on the Food Network not MTV) and got upset so I showed her how to roll over to remind her and she bonked her head on the hardwood floor (I'd miscalculated her position on the blanket). I get the Bad Mommy Award for February 11th.
It was the weekend of food--dinner with friends on Friday night, breakfast with friends on Saturday morning, take out for dinner on Saturday, breakfast tacos from Taco Cabana on Sunday. And I wonder why I can't lose weight--it's eating out, eating too much and my daily Milky Way habit. *Sigh*
Sunday afternoon I met with some women to start a babysitting co-op in our neighborhood. It's a great idea and once it gets off the ground, it'll be spectacular. It's basically tit-for-tat on the babysitting part but with bylaws and tokens to keep everyone honest and happy. It'll be nice to go out to dinner with Mr. B and get to eat with both hands!!
Oooh....Not Another Teen Movie is on! Love that one....considering I sat and watched Ten Things I Hate About You and Drives Me Crazy earlier, and it's parodied in Not Another, I must go and complete the Teen Movie Trifecta. OOOOH! And, I just remembered that E! is having the Top 50 Chick Flicks countdown tonight with Molly Ringwald hosting. YAY!
