We went to Seattle...in June...but it feels like yesterday

Mr B and I took off for Seattle for his 40th Birthday in June as he'd never been up to the Pac Northwest area of the country and wanted to know what all the buzz was about. We had a great time.

We took a ferry to Bain.bridge Island on a gorgeous, sunny day with temps in the 60s
We visited Mt. St. Helens and stayed at this cute motel. We did 2 of the 4 Visitors Centers on the way up. I panicked a bit as it didn't seem like you could see any of the destruction now that it's been 20 years but the closer to the peak, the more you could see the toothpick-like trees and the way they were blown down the mountain. It was so cool and so scary and sad, too. And it made me want to watch that movie with Art Carney as the guy that stays on the mountain.

We saw lots of totem poles and Native American masks and even experienced some Native American dancing

Salmon! Yum!
On top of the world, lookin' down on creation...or at the top of the Space Needle. Same thing.
Pike Place Market with coffee in hand (not a Sbucks, though but even tastier...shhhhh!)
And we went to Snoqualamie Falls. A totally out of the way trip to see the Falls and eat a 4-course breakfast at the Lodge. Out of the way, yes. Worth it, oh my yes. Just the way they served the coffee at breakfast was worth the price of a rent a car.

Other things we did but I guess didn't take pictures of---Seattle Underground Tour (fun!), Experience Music Project (meh...), the Ballard Locks and Salmon ladder and the Boeing Factory Tour (wow)

Glad ya'll had fun in our neck of the woods. Next time, we'll have to meet up! Maybe you can visit Portland or at least Oregon. So many cool things to see! Mountains, ocean, us - ha-ha!

Cool - I've wanted to go see Snoqualamie Falls after reading the first JA Jance book with J P Beaumont!
