July 4th

We were able to squeeze in some fun with Mr. B before he headed off into the Gulf for work again over the July 4th weekend. We rode our bikes (upgrade from the wagon) in the annual neighborhood parade but were unable to stay for the fun they had planned because Miss F had her All Stars meet. As the meet was north of town, we were able to squeeze in lunch at my favorite fast food venue up that way (wonder how I can work this in each year). We spent Sunday here and though Mr B. was able to get a bit of sun 'n' fun in with us, he was unable to stay for all the fun the resort offered--s'mores on the 'beach', pirate show, fireworks. The girls and I enjoyed the lazy river and water slides a few more times in the morning and then headed home for the traditional symphony and picnic at a local outdoor theatre. We had such a great time and even saw the Space Station float past to the symphonic soundtrack. I do love July 4th and this year got double fireworks, luxury accomodations for a night, saw my daughter place 2nd with her relay team and learned that I shouldn't let years go past without having some KFC. It was tasty. And I give the original recipe and this July 4th two thumbs up.
