Christmas preparations

We've been up to all kinds of Christmas preparations: trees decorated, village up, snowman colletion out, holiday gifts, visits to Santa and holiday parties attended. I think most of my loyal blog followers will be happy to hear that although we had RSVP'd yes to not one, not two but three Christmas parties in one night that we only attended two. And then, because Santa is watching, I have to 'fess up that the reason we only attended two is that one was cancelled.

We took a photo in front of one of our trees (yes, one of them--both girls have their own with their own ornament collections, too). I am not a fan of dressing kids alike but I also don't like mushrooms and squash which many folks think is crazy. However, I am OK with co-ordinating outfits so you can see that both had on green polka dots but McButter went white, polka dot, red and Miss F went red, polka dot, white and I hope that the holter monitor McButter is wearing in her 'Teddy Top' doesn't become a holiday tradition. It was routine maintanance and she remains off her medicine at this time.
In years past, I used to bake a lot on the holidays. It was tradition, right? However, since having the girls, I have cut way back on baking and what sugary yums are our families traditions. So, at this time of year I make several batches of Puppy Chow (recipe here), some sugar cookies and a fun, microwave fudge using marshmallows, teddy grahams and chocolate chips that original Molly gave us as a gift (recipe and ingredients, we had the fun of putting it together) and we then, gave on to others as a gift this year. This is just enough and it also allows for fun and memories (plus cute photos like above) but not crazed mommy.
