Who's at the Fair?

I know it's going on. I've seen Emily R to the Mac's photos on Facebook. Don't try to hide it from me. I know.

You're all off eating fried cheese curds at the State Fair, aren't you?

It is a sad, sad day for me. I may try to console myself with friend mozzerella sticks but it's just not the same. Luckily I got a taste of the curdy goodness during our visit earlier this month. But nothing beats a curd at the Fair.

Mr. B and Miss F are off visiting his parents as I prep for the 1st Day of School. Making Power Points for orientation, buying last minute supplies, and though I stay on task, I do find myself looking up photos of the Fair on Flickr, looking at the musical lineup at the Grandstand and throwing a small, small pity party for one that I'm yet again missing the Fair. Though, I heard a rumor there is no longer Machinery Hill? Is this true?

We went on Saturday. First item for breakfast....cheese curds. New this year is lingonberry ice cream; very good. Machinery hill is now lawn tractors and car dealers...didn't see a single plow.

We were there all day saturday. Left little man at home with me parents. We of course also started with cheese curds, then moved on to deep fried green bean, deep fried pickles, beer in between, potato skins, corn, egg roll, pickle dog and finished off with sweet martha cookies. OMG......I didn't realize how much we really ate. We didn't even get my favorite this year..........australian battered potatos. Boo Hoo!!!
Wish you guys could be here.

We started the day off with some pronto pups, then sweet martha cookies (my favorite), and finished off with the biggest tub of french fries you ever saw. Didn't get in all my favortites this year, we only spent 3 1/2 hrs there and babies tire easily. We did hit the Giant Slide and Sky Ride, 2 barns, and the kiddie middway too. I'm tired.

It's true, we've stuffed ourselves with Fair foods (twice for me, 3x's for E).

We're going for one last hurrah on Monday. Then, about 400 trips to the gym I suppose.

I'd send you some chesse curds through the mail if I didn't think the grease would eat the packaging!

Oh, and there most certainly IS a Machinery Hill! Lot's of plows, forklifts, tractors, etc. all anchored by the glorious 4H building.
