The C Word

Yeah, yeah, not that 'c' word. The cancer one. Along the lines of pre-cancerous. It appears that I am PC on the inside and outside and I don't mean choosing to speak in a non-offensive way. The mole I had biopsied does have pre-cancerous cells so I'm scheduled to go in and have surgery to remove more as a precaution. Add that to the pre-cancerous polyps that have been found not once, but twice, in my colon and I am starting to feel like my body is rotten. Then again, as my father pointed out, pre-cancerous is a term that is used a lot these days and is more of a precaution than anything...most of us are probably walking around with pre-cancerous cells somewhere on or in us...and I guess I'm just lucky to catch things early. My OCD is paying off...I swear I obsessed about this mole for a month--claiming it had never been there before, not liking the look of it, etc. and look, I was right!

So..besides researching becoming vegetarian and dropping dairy/eggs from the repertoire, too (which lasted about 1 day--a life without cheese is just not worth living, I'm sorry), the B Family has been busy as ever.

Currently Mr. B and his brother are driving from Houston to New Orleans to Shreveport and back to pick up and haul motorized vehicles of some sort. Miss F and I went to the Aquarium Downtown Houston and it was fun--cheesy, overpriced, but fun nonetheless. Last week had us at swim lessons, book club, late meetings (well, late for a teacher--when I'm there until 5 p.m. for two nights in a row--wow, that's late considering I am done at 3:15, officially, that is)

Last weekend was quiet--we stayed home all day Sunday! I know! Crazy. I saw a play about a librarian with librarians at the Alley and we had swim lessons and the general minutae of daily life.

This week I head to Dallas for the Texas Library Assoc. Annual Conference--getting wild with the librarians, you know. Woot.

Miss F busted her lip the other day while running in the house (ironically she tripped on her Crocs on the same day I was involved in a discussion about Crocs being banned at school due to safety issues). She also had a bug bite on her eye that was swollen. She definitely looked a sight. She is still obsessed with dress up and putting everything on at once--fairy costume, long dress, ladybug wings, glittery tops, hats, headbands, crowns. It's lovely, really lovely.

Sorry your body is not cooperating with you, that sucks! I'm so glad you caught everything early. Have fun in Dallas.
