It's a Beautiful Day....Don't let it get away

The weather was really, really gorgeous here in H-town this weekend. And we were able to get out and have so much fun!

Friday we babysat Mr. A. It was so fun to see him and Miss F start to interact. She'd say "Mr A" and point to something and he'd run over to see what she was pointing to. We had a picnic outside and kept them up past their bedtime (hee hee, isn't that what babysitters always do?)

Saturday we went to Pasadena, TX. Now, if you live in Houston, you tend to make fun of 'the Dena' for being a bit, well, redneck. If you live outside of Texas, your idea of Pasadena, TX comes from the movie "Urban Cowboy". Well, we went to Pasadena for the Strawberry Festival. We had fun--watched a bit of mud volleyball, did the petting zoo, ate fried stuff and the best part was having a slice of the World's Largest Strawberry Shortcake. Yum. After nap, Mr. B and I went to a workshop (more on that later) and Miss F played with the babysitter.

Sunday we had breakfast with friends and Miss E and played in the yard. In the afternoon, we went swimming with the R family and Miss F played with Mr. W. Good times. We rode our bikes over there so we got a family bike ride in, too.

So..... other news for the B Family

1. I got a new job. I'll be at a local elementary mere minutes from the house and daycare. No more commute! Plus, I'll be on the local district schedule and will have insights into the local schools. In Houston, you can send your child to any school as long as there is room and you provide transport. So perhaps Miss F can come to school with me in a couple years!

2. Mr. B and I are considering adopting from China. We went to a workshop on Saturday and are mulling things over at this point. It's a bit frustrating that the process takes 3 years but I'm not sure that will keep us from throwing our hat into the ring, so to speak. I've always wanted to adopt and with recent health issues, it just seems like the right thing for our family at this point. More updates as they occur.

I have photos waiting to be picked up at Walgreen's so look for a photo blog soon.
