Hey, hey momma....

Hello! Good weekend was had by all!

Friday night the B Family went to Berryhill's for tempura fish tacos and a margarita for me (juice for Miss F). We then went to Cost Co and bought all kinds of goodies. I think I had a Cost Co/Sam's debate going in a blog back in December and we've decided--Cost Co, hands down! Mr B and I watched "Borat". Um, I didn't really get it. I sure didn't see what was so great about it. However, I stand by my statement that 'indie flicks' and I don't get along. I never seem to 'get it' (minus "Saved", that is one of my all time faves and it's an indie, I think).

Saturday we went to the Art Car parade line-up. The parade was during Miss F's naptime so we just went and walked the line-up. I took a ton of photos but didnt' get them developed yet. Click HERE to see some of the crazy cars. We went with a friend of Miss F's from daycare. The parents own an art gallery at the beginning of the route so it was easy-breezy for us to load the girls in the wagon and enjoy all the cars. After nap we washed the cars (ours, not the art cars)and Miss F enjoyed playing with the hose and sponges. I cooked a Rachael Ray meal (recipe at the bottom) and we enjoyed the fruits of my herb garden on the pizza.

Happy Mother's Day! Today Mr. B and Miss F took me to IKEA for a tour of my 2nd favorite place on earth (Disney being #1) and then for Dim Sum. I met up with a friend to get a pedicure while the men watched Miss F (they got off easy as it was naptime)

Chicken Parm Pizza (from Rachael Ray's "2,4,6,8 Meals for Couples or a Crowd")

1 pizza dough (I used a Boboli)
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (EVOO for RR affecianados)
1 lb ground chicken
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 small onion, chopped (I used frozen chopped onions and used about 1/4 of a c.)
salt and black pepper
Handful of fresh parsley (from my herb garden)
Couple pinches red pepper
Couple pinches dried oregano
1 8-oz can tomato sauce
1 c. grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese
1 1/2 c. shredded Provolone cheese
5 or 6 fresh basil leaves, shredded or torn(from my herb garden)

Heat oven to 425

(Skip this step if using Boboli like me) Coat your hands and work surface with a little cornmeal or flour and using your hand or a rolling pin, form a 14-inch round pizza. Place on a baking tray and prick the dough. Drizzle a bit of EVOO over the dough and place in oven. Bake 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, heat a deep skillet over medium-high heat with the 2 tablespoons of EVOO, 2 times around the pan. Add the meat and brown it, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. To the browned meat add the garlic and onions and season them with salt and pepper. Cook them together for 5 to 6 minutes, then add the parsley, red pepper flakes, oregano, and tomato sauce. Heat sauce through.

Remove the pizza from the oven after 10 minutes and top it with the meat sauce, then scatter the cheeses over all. Return it to the oven and bake until its golden and bubbly, another 10-12 minutes. Top the pizza with the shredded basil, cut and serve.

I think "Borat" was a guy-film. Anything that has to do with bodily functions or sounds is junior high humor, from which we men have arrested developement.
