If I were a rich girl...yadadadadadada

My high school is having a 15 year reunion (which is so weird because I just graduated high school, like, 2 years ago) and I really, really, really want to go. However, the cost of flying from IAH to MSP is $480. That's a bit steep, especially since it would have to be an in-and-out trip due to other obligations. I'm so sad. I missed my 10 year reunion, too. I just know I need to go and be snarky about my fellow HHS grads. Plus, wouldn't that soooo be the motivation I need to take off the last 10-15 pounds? Am I the only one who really wants to go to my reunion?!? I just can never seem to get over the teen-angsty feeling that if i miss this, I'm missing something big (and that everyone will talk about me behind my back). Yet, looking back on, say, prom....it wasn't all that special. It's become so mythological in our society and yet, for most, I think it never lives up to the 'one moment in time' or 'time of our life' or whatever the cheesy slogan was. In fact, for a lot of people, prom is downright awful. Maybe that's what I should keep in mind....maybe my reunion would send me into therapy or something.

I am also bummed that, yet again, we won't be heading up to MN/WI for any length of time. I keep wanting to go up for a week or two and visit Itasca, stay at a cabin, let Mr. B golf up in the smooth, green grass, perhaps make a pilgrimage to UMM, hang with friends, get the kiddos together, etc. However, yet again, the summer months are already filled with prior engagements. Sigh. I drank up my 5 cases of Leinie's so I can't even have one to nurse my pain......
