Last weekend--Mr B and Miss F went to his hometown and mommy was left all alone at home. Poor me. I made the best of it, though, by getting a pedicure, being a lady who lunched, renting cheesy teen chick flicks, eating Dim Sum, reading books, and sleeping in.
This week I had my 6 month colonoscopy and while I'm waiting for the results of the biopsy, they did find a polyp again. The positives of the colonoscopy: I lost 3 lbs (for a day), I got to sleep all day/day off work (and Mr. B had a day off work, too, to 'care' for me--really he did lots of yard work) and, if the polyp is something 'bad', I know early enough to get things taken care of. As a friend who has been through colon cancer always tells me--it's the most curable but most deadly, too, because people don't get checked like they should. Public Service Anouncement--get checked, people, especially if there's a history in your family. I mean, you lose 3 lbs, at least! YAY!

Definitely a Public Service Announcement. I had mine done in December (clear). In my internist's office is a poster that says, "if you are over 50 you need to be screened for colon cancer...no matter how good your excuse is to get out of it".
