I hate to start my blog with a rant but let's just say, we're slim on photos due to CVS Pharmacy messing up my order. Grrrrr....So here's Miss F on the big, red tractor at TX Gma and Gpa B's house.

We've had a great week! Here it is in bullet points

1. Christmas Eve--I made Flinn Soup (a family tradition from the Flinn side--not a soup made from our Miss F) successfully and we had a nice meal of soup, shrimp, broccoli and pepper crackers. Miss F opened the customary 1 gift on Christmas Eve which was the customary pajamas. We left her with Gma and Gpa and Mr. B and myself went to 7PM candlelight service. We came home to stuff stockings, leave out treats for Santa and off to bed.

2. Christmas Day--Miss F has been sleeping like a champ--sometimes until 8 AM! She let us sleep until 7:30 (I know, this will end soon and we'll get to the Christmas mornings that begin at 5 AM). We opened gifts, ate cream-cheese filled orange bread (I made it--yum) and then played with our new toys most of the day. We had a ham with a sweet and spicy glaze, Gpa's famous mashed potatoes, balsamic-brown sugar carrots and then a pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. I made all but the mashed potatoes (with assistance, natch, but all homemade). I'm so proud of my first official Christmas dinner. Mr B and I then snuck off to see 'Dreamgirls'. I hope everyone has seen it, yes?

3. New Years Eve--we had a B Family Rockin' Pack n Play New Years. Miss F's buddies (and their parents being our buddies) came over. The kids ran themselves ragged and then we plunked them into pack 'n' plays and the real party started. We had a wild game of Scene It (I won, of course) and watched the ball drop. I haven't seen the ball drop in years! We were all quite impressed that we even made it to midnight. Yay, us!

In between we had field trips to a nursing home (Miss F got gussied up in Christmas finery to deliver gifts to those with no family to visit them during the holiday season), the zoo, the Children's Museum (Miss F got a membership from the AZ Gma Gpa B's for Christmas) and the park. Mr. B and Gpa did a ton of projects around the casa.

Miss F received so many fabulous gifts (and if you sent one, don't worry, when I finish blogging I'm on to the Thank-You notes). The favorite gift was a doll stroller. The child has worn ruts in the hardwoods pushing that thing around. It was also popular with the boys on New Years Eve. I can't wait to show photos of Mr. A and Mr. W pushing a pink stroller during their senior class slideshow. Ha! For the rest of the B Family it was a very practical Christmas but there's nothing wrong with that.

I'm sure there's more to blog but this B stayed up until 2 AM and is tired to the nth degree.
