Minnesota Hats Off to Thee....On Wisconsin, on Wisconsin

I'm so confused. I never know what to say when I head up nort' for a visit. Am I going to Minnesota or am I going to Wisconsin. Hudson, where I attended high school and lived, is on the banks of the St. Croix which is the border for MN/WI. I always say "I'm from Wisconsin" and strangers get very excited about Madison and Milwaukee and I have to say...well, I'm from the other side and spent more time in Minnesota than Wisconsin. Sometimes it's easier to say Minnesota but I hate letting Wisconsin down!

The weekend was perfect. Fall is the worst time to visit. Why? Because it makes it very, very hard to leave.....

We had a great, albeit short, visit. Jay and Em's wedding was fan-freakin-tastic. They had a photo booth! Love me the photo booth, especially when I'm drinking free wine and there's a babysitter watching Flinn. They also had the much heard about but never seen candy bar. Yes, they gave you a bag and said 'fill it' and then turned you loose on a table full of jars of Skittles, M&Ms, double bubble, jelly bellies, Hershey's kisses and more and more and more. YUM!

Erin's shower was fun and she got some cute stuff (*cough, cute handmade quilt, cough, cough*). I was able to have lunch with Uncle Stephen and Sharon at the Mall of America (where I also bought Miss F's 1st Birthday Dress). We met up with Hope and the HHouse family and Danielle and her brood on Sunday. Danielle cooked up some mean burgers and it was great catching up with old (yet we look so young) friends.

Miss F was a champ on the airplane.....as much of a champ as a near 1 year old can be when confined to a small space that puts pressure on her ears. We made it home safe and sound but sad to leave. Maybe they'll discover oil in the St Croix River! I mean, there's big ol' sturgeon down there...can't they die and corode into oil?!?!

Oh! And I drank my fill of Leinenkugal's Berry Weiss.

PS--Uncle Stephen was right--they bumped my RR show to put Scott Wolf of the new show "The Nine" on a Wednesday...the same night the show in on TV. Smart on their part, frustrating on my part!

Hey Jeny!

Glad you we able to swing up Nort for some Wisco love. I hear you on the identity crisis of Hudson.

"I'm from a small town in Wisconsin just outside of Minneapolis." That and its many variants seem to lure ex-pat Hudsonites into a long conversation with the geographically challenged Texans. And really, who needs that?
