God Bless Rachael Ray

We ate in every meal this weekend! I'm so proud of us! Of course I took the savings we got from eating in and bought Miss F an activity center. We had Oregon Chops with Pinot Noir, Cranberries and Beet/Kale Hash (I minused the mushrooms--ew!). I felt like we were in a fancy restaurant with that recipe--of course we had Miss F with pureed sweet potatoes dripping off her face joining us at the table--I don't think that happens at 5 star restaurants! We also had the Super Mashers with Chicken and Green Chile Hash (RR likes hash, doesn't she?). We fired up the grill for the Manly BBQ chicken burgers and enjoyed the Maple Sausage Breakfast sammies (her word, not mine). Earlier in the week I made the German Potato Salad with Kielbasa. Most took only 30 minutes though the massive amounts of chopping sets me back a few minutes. Maybe they're 32 minute meals. I have discovered what leeks are, what kale is and that my local Kroger does carry ground chicken! I was shocked! Add to that I made New Allison's Mambo Margaritas (1 can limeade, 1 Corona, 1 can 7-Up and 1 canful of tequila) from the Sweet Potato Queen's Book of Love and we had quite a culinary week/weekend.

We had a great weekend--we ordered our new appliances from Sears (yet another reason I love our little 'hood....we have a stand alone Sears, they don't make those anymore!), I went to Target, the library (I just finished an amazing YA novel called Twilight. It got into my dreams and kept me up late), Mr B got a haircut, we went to the new house and took a walk with Miss F and Sheba around the new block. Today I went God shopping (long story and without going on a religious rant that may offend, the short of it is I'm shopping for a church we can attend from time to time and that will baptize Miss F without Mr B and I having to get remarried) I realized that this time last year we went to church because I'd made a pact with God about the outcome of The Amazing Race. He kept his end, I kept mine. I went to a book fair for my new school and met some of the teachers, students and parents. Last I met a friend for coffee at my favorite local hangout this afternoon. In between I actually cleaned and got laundry done!

Oh and if you were born in the '70s and know what I'm getting at when I say .... "Heeeey you guyyyyyyyys!" check out this link: http://www.sesameworkshop.org/tec/index.php

You freaking crack me up. I just got caught surfing by my boss because I had to listen to the Hey You Guys clip. And I laughed out loud at your Amazing Race pact with God. Don't you think this season isn't as good as last season? I can't wait for the all star big brother. I am going to have to download the feeds this time. No billing this summer!

I am very proud of your RR weekend. I try really hard to cook at least 3 days a week so I understand the drama involved (and I don't have a kid - I don't even have plants!). Husband is out of town so I might try the super mashers hash (that's certainly not on any phase of the SB diet).
