Goin' thru the Big D and I do mean Dallas
Miss F, getting her 'Guns Up'. She was quite fascinated by Miz Woolf's double T attire but I don't know if that's because it's red (her favorite color) of if she's already planning on being a Red Raider?!?
Traveling with a baby is good fun! We loaded up the Pilot early on Saturday a.m. with outfits and diapers and bottles and swings and blankets and pack 'n' plays and diversions and most importantly those little sanity savers like her favorite Whoozit toy. It seems that every time I leave the Houston area on I-45, the heavens open and it rains like Noah's flood. It was some pretty scary driving but we made it (and I even got to try out the DVD in the back while feeding Miss F on-the-fly--I watched a classic Popeye cartoon)
Our first stop was to check out Baby J's new casa and for Miss F to meet her 'cousins' Mr. A and Miss J. We ate a healthy lunch (nachos with lettuce and tomato are very healthy people) and caught up on everything. I loved seeing age 4 and 2 and can't believe Miss F will be there sooner rather than later.
Next we crashed at Miz Woolf's house near Fort Worth and met her new man. Thumbs Up to the Disney Fan she found herself. We painted pottery at Miss K's new store (if you're ever in Grapevine, TX stop by Pepe le Potters) and ate at Red Hot and Blue. Mmm-mm, I love me some Mephis BBQ with the coleslaw in the sammich. Miss F showed off her skill of going right to bed at 8 PM (I gotta brag a little) and we hung out at Miz Woolf's drinking Coors Light and waxing poetic.
Sunday we headed over to the Big D to meet the C-man and A to the M-C. We ate at Breadwinners. Yum, yum and more YUM. Mr. B laughs at the way I eat my way through visits but I gotta hit the places I can't eat at in H-town. It was a great visit and so good to see my old friends (cue the song "Make New Friends" from Girl Scouts) However, for the first time, I was actually not sad to see the Dallas skyline in the rearview mirror. Guess I'm learning to love H-town (or at least see it's finer points)
The housing debate has been answered...stay tuned....

As for her getting her guns up, she is a natural! I am sure she wants to be a Red Raider when she grows up.
